Precise Load

Precise Load is a web-based internal and external ballistics calculator aimed at reloaders and shooters who want to simulate load performance directly in a browser. It models parameters such as chamber pressure, muzzle velocity, energy, and trajectory based on user-defined inputs including cartridge dimensions, powder charge, bullet geometry, and barrel length. Because it runs entirely online, it avoids the platform and installation constraints associated with older desktop-based ballistics software.

Unlike established tools in this field, Precise Load is developed and maintained primarily by a single hobbyist developer rather than a commercial company or community team. While this allows for flexibility and rapid experimentation, it also means that development pace, long-term support, documentation quality, and data validation depend heavily on the availability and priorities of one individual. Users should therefore be aware that continuity, update frequency, and verification processes may differ from professionally maintained platforms.

The tool includes a growing component database and features such as custom bullet input, but—as with all simulation software—it relies on mathematical models and assumptions that cannot fully replace pressure-tested load data.
